Persist in the unstable
Performance; Video; Instability; Contemporary Art; Gender; Dissidence.
Here, a body in a state of falling is elaborated, traversed by high-heeled sandals, mud, liquid, sand, and other states of instability. Between the mangrove and the dune, the body moves, dissolves, and transforms, finding in instability a possibility of breaking with fixed forms of existence. Performance and video become spaces of passage, where images create proximity through distortion, degradation, and the loss of solidity. The work thus investigates falling and instability as ways of displacing the body, challenging norms, and producing other ways of being and enduring.
