SUMMARY:

This work presents the modeling of the development of the digital portfolio "Multimodality in Focus," an educational product designed for teaching Portuguese as a Second Language (L2) to deaf students. The research problem lies in the linguistic and methodological barriers faced by teachers in translating multimodal strategies into classroom practice. The general objective was to analyze a pedagogical resource based on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) that offers practical guidance based on scientific evidence. Methodologically, the research used Evidence-Based Design (EBD) to analyze a corpus of 32 academic works, operating a Didactic Transposition of the scientific findings into a dialogical and instructive language. The product architecture was developed under the principles of User Experience (UX), ensuring usability and accessibility. The portfolio is organized into three learning paths: Representation, Action and Expression, and Engagement. We hope that the results of peer validation will indicate that the product can be an effective tool for teacher training, promoting autonomy and offering resources that respect the unique visual characteristics of deaf students, and that the combination of rigorous evidence and the flexibility of digital design can enhance the inclusion and effectiveness of bilingual education.
