PATIENT SAFETY IN THE SCENARIO OF THE PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL
Patient safety; Risk management; Psychiatric hospital; Mental health.
The debate around patient culture and safety is expanding. It deals with the collective perceptions about safety in the workspace and, above all, regarding its importance in the prevention of Adverse Events (AE). Thus, the subject of patient safety is gaining ground in discussions, the scope for the scope of health care for psychiatric patients is scarce. Due to its specificity, the public on screen is more susceptible to situations of interpersonal violence, falls, escapes, self-mutilation and attempted suicide. The construction of protocols is a strategy to be adopted aiming at the prevention of adverse events. Building them collectively, aiming at the specificity of the institution and the target audience, stimulates their adherence by professionals. In this context, the questions that guide this research are: is it possible to implement patient safety protocols in the psychiatric hospital? What are the general precautions necessary to compose a patient safety protocol admitted to a psychiatric hospital? This is a qualitative research of the convergent type of assistance. The study scenario will be a psychiatric hospital located in a city in Rio Grande do Norte, with the participants of the Patient Safety Commission of that hospital, representatives of the technical team that deals directly with the health care of patients, Health Manager and Nursing Manager. The researcher is part of the hospital's technical team, attending to the question of immersing the researcher to the place of study required by Convergent Care Research (PCA). Data collection will take place through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire, built by the researcher, to characterize the convergence group and define the priority themes that will guide the construction of the protocols. In addition to holding workshops for the collective construction of patient safety protocols, contemplating reflexive and problematizing actions, using the Arco de Maguerez technique, providing the exchange of knowledge through a dialogical movement between the participants. The protocol validation criteria will be defined during the first workshop together with the group. Data analysis will take place using the Collective Subject Discourse analysis method. It is expected that the result of this research will contribute to a better climate of safety among professionals, guiding the prevention and safety actions of patients in a situation of hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital.
