Field trips are considered one of the strategies for teaching geography and help in the process of building knowledge through experiences in which it is possible to observe some concepts in a more contextualized way. Aiming to contribute to the teaching of this curricular component and, at the same time, offer innovative alternatives to approach concepts that are difficult to observe in situ, this research analyzed digital technologies to assist in the implementation of virtual study trips. To achieve the proposed objective, it was decided to carry out an action research, in which geography teachers from public and private schools in the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte participated, so that they collaborated in proposing didactic sequences for carrying out these pedagogical activities. The methodological procedures were organized in four stages: I) Identification and definition of the compositional elements of a virtual study trip; II) Research on technological resources for the creation of these field trips; III) Definition of innovative educational methodologies; and IV) Development of didactic sequences for carrying out these educational practices. At the end of the research, it was possible to consider that these learning activities, with a pedagogical strategy based on the use of digital technologies and innovative methodologies, allow students to explore different places in the world and build concepts in a more immersive way, creating a more dynamic, playful, contextualized and meaningful learning process. As a final product, an e-book was created with didactic sequences structured in order to contribute to the teaching of geography, particularly with regard to carrying out these experiences.
