Teacher training. TPACK. Language course. Teaching-learning of English language.
The technological revolution has directly affected education, especially new generations. This fact brought new possibilities for teaching and learning which are not centered in schools, books or teachers, but in the students. Therefore, the training of teachers must be rethought for this new reality, aiming at technological, pedagogical and content knowledge, according to the theoretical model TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge). In this sense, this study has the general objective of promoting a language teacher training course in a way that they can integrate the digital resources from SmartLab laboratory with the teaching of English. Therefore, we present the following specific objectives: i) to identify the training needs from teachers of English language course in integrating the digital resources from SmartLab laboratory into teaching; ii) describe the digital resources of the SmartLab laboratory and its potential for teaching English; iii) develop a training proposal for teachers of English in language course, which integrates the digital resources from SmartLab laboratory; and, iv) to evaluate, with the teachers, the training proposal that integrates the digital resources from SmartLab laboratory with teaching. In methodological terms, a qualitative - exploratory and interventionist approach is adopted - through an action research, structured in five stages: investigation, planning, execution, evaluation and learning. Based on the data obtained with the questionnaire and description of Smartlab, as well as the theoretical discussions, the course that is intended to be applied in the next stage of the research was planned. Lastly, we expect to this research can contribute to the ongoing training of current and future English language teachers, as a way of ensuring meaningful learning for students contemplated with these new practices.
