ACCESSIBILITY IN DIGITAL DOCUMENTS: TRAINING HUMAN RESOURCES IN STANDARDIZATION OF DOCUMENTS FOR UFRN
Keywords: accessibility, digital materials, document standardization, visual impairment
This work aims to promote the training of human resources at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN through video lessons focused on the production of digital documents accessible to visually impaired people. Several video lessons will be produced with direct approach to the main points that make the production of this type of document difficult. It is a documentary and applied research and is divided into three distinct stages: The first stage consists in defining the standards that best suit the needs of people with visual impairment. These definitions will mainly consider the autonomy of these people, aiming at a better understanding of the contents presented in digital materials. A committee was formed with UFRN employees and students with and without visual impairment who analyzed each point and defined, taking into consideration the least possible adaptation, as well as the principle of reasonability. In the second stage, the documents will be publicly consulted with visually impaired people who will validate the accessible form of digital document production. In the third, video lessons will be produced that will address all the points that were discussed and validated in the previous steps. These classes will serve as reference material for those wishing to create accessible digital documents.
