SUMMARY:

The relationship between Technology and Education has sparked a range of discussions that contemplate and construct the foundations for a plural and multifaceted education in the Digital Technology era, highlighting the need to consider pedagogical action in this context. In this light, this dissertation's central theme is Educational Robotics within the scope of didactic-pedagogical training for Science and Technology students participating in the URA (Um Robô por Aluno) extension project at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), which consists of undergraduates regularly enrolled in Engineering and Computing courses. The research was developed based on observations and data produced by students from this extension project, which, besides contributing to the democratization of Educational Robotics in Brazil (particularly in the State of Rio Grande do Norte), aims to develop an integrated action that includes Teaching, Research, and Extension of low-cost robotics (Hardware and Software) within the context of higher education. The project has existed for over ten years and is linked to the ECT (Escola de Ciência e Tecnologia) of UFRN. During this time, several versions of the low-cost robot kit were developed, and a preliminary analysis identified that the proposed training sessions mainly focused on the technical aspects of this field of study. Keeping this in mind, the research sought to promote a space for discussion and training in the use of didactic practices combined with active methodologies in the training of these students involved in the URA project. Therefore, the central objective of this work is to investigate how a short-term didactic-pedagogical training (20 hours), exploring pillars of didactics combined with active methodologies, can complement the theoretical-practical repertoire of these undergraduate robotics instructors in the previously mentioned context. Additionally, through the application of questionnaires, the research aimed to assess students' knowledge about Educational Robotics from a pedagogical perspective; implement a formative process from a didactic-pedagogical standpoint; and evaluate, from different perspectives, how the intervention process contributed to the training of these students.
