FORMATIVE EVALUATION DIGITAL: A PROPOSAL BASED ON GAMIFICATION AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING
Formative Evaluation, Gamification, Collaborative Learning
The formative evaluation is a continuous pedagogical process that aims to verify if the learning process of the student is in agreement with the pedagogical objectives. Today there are more and more digital platforms to automate the process and provide data about student learning in order to support the decision making of the teacher to intervene in the process. Many of these platforms bring a gamification proposal, which is an approach that seeks to motivate students to learn by integrating elements of games into learning environments, looking for achieve places in school environments. In order to verify the integration of the gamification in these platforms, this research analyzed if they use the resources proposed by the approach. The result showed that the platforms operate under a limited conception because they use few of the available elements. In addition, formative assessment platforms do not assess the learning process of students in a collaborative learning environment, failing to provide data to English teachers, for example, who base their classes on conversation and group work. To fill this gap, this work proposes the creation of a formative evaluation platform with several elements of digital games, aiming at enhancing the gamification of the activities of formative assessment in the classroom, as well as providing means to evaluate the performance of students in an environment collaborative learning.
