Dissertation Ratification

After receiving the defense minutes (ata) and the signed evaluation form, the secretary can approve the student in the system, allowing them to begin the final procedures for completing their Master’s degree. The graduate has up to three months (from the defense date) to ratify their dissertation.

Initially, the Master's candidate must make the corrections requested by the committee and upload the dissertation to SIGAA. The system itself provides a step-by-step guide explaining the procedures, which include the publication authorization and the generation of the cataloging record
(ficha catalográfica). The entire process is conducted online. The Graduate Office involvement occurs only in the final stages: Receipt of the final version by the coordination and Validation of mandatory documents. We request that once these stages are reached, the student sends an email to inform us.

Additionally, it is necessary to submit information regarding future activities, as we must track where our alumni will be working. After the process is complete, the student must wait while the finalization goes through a series of internal procedures. Only after this stage will it be possible to issue a document via the system proving the completion of the program. If the graduate requires a physical diploma, they must visit the reception of the Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies (located at the end of the hallway on the left, on the first floor of the Rectory Building) to collect it. The contact number is +55 (61) 3342-2327, extension 107.

Note: The program’s office does not issue documents such Declarations of Completion or similar certificates.
