SUMMARY: The discussions in the field of strategic management of people in tourism have stood out among the research in the sector, evidencing the attention given to the organization's employees, highlighting human resources as decisive strategic elements for positive results and the achievement of organizational goals. With this, the understanding of the management practices that determine the employees' attitudes and behaviors, directing the actions and their cause and effect relationship in the organizational performance of tourism enterprises becomes the focus of researchers. In this search for the most effective people management model, discussions about behavioral constructs in organizations have come into vogue. Organizational climate and organizational commitment currently play essential roles in the management of interpersonal relationships within companies, so understanding how they behave and contribute to the strategic management of people becomes essential. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze how the relationships between organizational climate and organizational commitment contribute to the strategic management of people in the hotel chain in Natal, RN. This is a descriptive study, qualitative and quantitative in nature, based on a phenomenological approach. Collaborators and managers of hotel chains in the city of Natal will be investigated through the application of a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The study is expected to describe the current climate and organizational commitment in the hotel sector in the city of Natal; to identify the behavioral relationships established between climate and organizational commitment; and to assess the contributions of these correlations to the strategic management of people in the hotel chain in Natal, RN.
