RESUMO:

The rapid advancement of communication has brought about considerable changes in all contexts of society. In the same way, it has been transforming the organizational scenario, requiring different strategies to deal with current challenges. Creativity and innovation emerge as tools capable of producing a greater number of responses and solutions, as well as supporting decision making. To optimize this results, organizations start to orchestrate the management of creativity and innovation, which is a process oriented to empowering the creation of ideas and transforming them into differentiated solutions. The tourism industry has appropriated this artifice, especially organizations focused on the planning of events with a view to building a competitive advantage. In this way, the present work aims to analyze the relationship between the management of creativity and the management of innovation in a company that organizes tourism events. As representative of this sector, the Destaque Promocões was defined, for the representativeness of Carnatal in the national market of tourist events. The research is developed with a descriptive-exploratory, qualitative approach. Data collection instruments, questionnaires applied to a sample of ten employees of the organization and non-participant observation were used as instruments for data collection. Through content analysis, based on tabulation via spreadsheet editing software and NVIVO (version 11.0). It is observed that the company has a well-developed creative culture, however, it does not have a strategy oriented to the process of innovation. Innovations, mostly incremental, occur randomly and emerge from exogenous problems. It is concluded that the relationship between the creative culture and the innovation process, in the event organizers, occurs in a dependent way so that it brings plausible results, which corroborates with previous theories to reveal that the management of creativity is fundamental, but it shows is just as the principle for innovation.
