SUMMARY:

Leadership is a topic that interests the tourism sector, particularly the hotel industry, and which has been undergoing a process of ongoing restructuring and transformation, constituting a dominant area of study in current organizational and management literature. On the other hand, it is a challenge for leaders, as the tourism sector is dynamic and competitive, especially in the current scenario of high customer demand. Tourism is a sector that depends a lot on the people involved for its operation, with emphasis on the leaders of the enterprises. The leader's actions can lead to employee satisfaction, which can contribute to increased productivity and improved service delivery and, consequently, customer satisfaction and loyalty, which leads to good business performance. Therefore, the research that is intended to be developed aims to analyze the relationship between leadership and its influence on the performance of hotel enterprises. To achieve the proposed objective, an exploratory and descriptive study will be carried out, of an applied nature and with a quantitative analysis approach. As a research strategy, questionnaires will be applied for a convenience sample to 4 and 5 star hotels located in Maputo`s city, Mozambique. Data analysis will be performed through factor analysis and multiple regression. As for the expected results, the validation of measurement scales of the constructs under study, through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, stands out.
