RESUMO:

Biocomposites needs attempt to general services conditions with minimal changes of properties through its life cycle to serve satisfactory for industrial interests. So this thesis intent to develop new biocomposite materials for nautical applications, produced by polyester resin with Neopentil Glicol, named nautical resin, it’s filled by wood flour and untreated woven jute-fabric. First of all, two configurations were produced by industrial hand lay-up. The BJ laminate, with four jute-fabric layers and BMJ sandwich panel, with four jute-fabric layers and an intermediate layer (nucleon) by wood flour and nautical resin were subject to accelerated ageing process with UV radiation and humidity cycles, through accelerated test device building by UFRN project accord to ASTM standard. After ageing the BMJ panel and BJ laminate body-proofs were processed and recycled to produce a third configuration, named BMJ-R panel (recycled) which it’s containing four jute-fabric layers and an intermediate hybrid nucleon with wood flour and jute fibers grinded into nautical resin. The non-aged and recycled configurations were passed by tensile, flexural and compression mechanical properties tests and physical test of density. BMJ panel passed again for two ambient water absorption tests. Aged biocomposites and RN+NPG (nautical resin) body-proofs passed by tensile and flexural mechanical properties tests and were analyzed by mass lost degradation after ageing test to observe how its configuration and nucleon presence may influence that materials and in which aspects. The nautical resin samples works as a comparative parameter for contribution to biocomposites performance face to studied intemperate factors. Analyses of fracture comparative, mechanical performance, before and after ageing, recycling processes and the structural integrity were realized to form the global understanding about the influence of the different configurations and factors into nautical biocomposites made here.
