RESUMO:

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging paradigm that includes a hardware infrastructure, software and services that connect physical objects, known as things, to the computer network. This paradigm envisions a world where various objects connected to the Internet interact, share information and react autonomously to the physical world events. This paradigm is characterized by an enormous heterogeneity, since the physical objects and their software components are developed by different manufacturers, without standardizing. Another characteristic of this paradigm is the dynamicity in IoT, the objects may become unavailable due to various factors, such as the mobility of devices, network absence, energy availability, etc. Similarly, new devices before disconnected may become available in the environment. These characteristics difficult the development of applications in the IoT domain. In this perspective, middleware platforms have emerged as promising solutions to facilitate application development. These platforms offer standardized interfaces for access to devices, abstracting for developers details of communication via network, protocols and data formats used by various devices. Given the dynamicity of the environment, these platforms must accommodate the growing number of devices quickly and efficiently. Due your ability to provide computing resources quickly and conveniently, the cloud computing paradigm complete the paradigm of IoT, in the sense to provide computing resources on demand for this highly dynamic environment. However, not always a single cloud computing platform is able to meet the application requirements in IoT domain in terms of: availability, reliability, fault tolerance, etc. This leads to the need to use more than one cloud platform services simultaneously, concept known as multi-cloud. A recent research showed that majority of the proposals existing in the literature in this direction are still in the maturation phase, these proposals are not able yet to take full advantage of the benefits that cloud computing paradigm can provide to IoT paradigm, especially in as regards the scalability and use  of multiple cloud computing platforms. In this perspective, the following work proposes an architecture to manage the elasticity of resources consumed by applications in the IoT domain in multi-cloud environments. The architecture has the potential to provide facilities for monitoring and elasticity of resources in multiple cloud computing platforms, in addition to manage the distribution of the workload between the applications and provide a scalable and distributed data storage system that can be used to storage the data managed by these applications.
