SUMMARY: Crises are part of the set of characteristics that perform the global environments of life in society, which become more intense and remarkable every day. The recurrence of chaotic events in most countries of the world with the capacity to cause damage and impacts on different scales and proportions, have shaped turbulent environments and redefined the logic of tourist destinations through the interdisciplinary and vulnerable nature of the subsystems that integrate it, imposing on markets, governments and societies, the task of assuming sudden strategic positions and decisions as a way of responding to the multiplicity of its effects, drawing attention to the (re)incorporation of crisis management processes in the field of tourism. Based on this scope, the objective of this thesis project is to understand how the different actors involved in the realization and practice of tourism, are (re)articulated through the occurrence of tourist crises, and what are the consequences/impacts of these in coastal destinations such as Tibau do Sul/District of Pipa, RN. The proposal seeks to investigate, in the midst of the fields of crisis management and tourism, the repercussions of internal and external crises to the locus of research regarding the social, environmental and economic dimensions, in the time frame from 2008 to 2022. The methodological approach of the study is of a qualitative nature, whose procedures for data collection include bibliographic review, document analysis, semi-structured and in-depth interviews, as well as online questionnaires with open and closed questions, using content analysis as a method. In addition, the study is anchored in Chaos Theory as an epistemological basis and main line of conduction and construction of knowledge. Preliminarily, the results of the application of the Proknow-C method focused on the survey and bibliographic analysis of the main thematic axes of the study, indicated that especially the crisis management literature has significant research gaps in its interface with tourism, an aspect that provided relevant insights to discuss the need to adapt the sector to critical situations, and the importance of active and intersectoral collaboration processes in the scope of planning and public policies, as elements inseparable from the dynamics of preparation and strengthening of tourist practices and articulation of local/regional actors in the context of crises.
