RESUMO:

At the present time, it is observed that mass tourism has been valued and developed in peripheral countries with the objective of generating a surplus in the trade balance, besides being justified by the premise of employment and income generation for the local population, as well as guided by the search Of the constant increase in the diverse flows and, above all, of tourists in the destinations. In this context, it is worth mentioning that it is rare to find public or private initiatives aimed at minimizing socioeconomic problems, such as unemployment and underemployment, formalization of work, insertion of the local population into jobs, empowerment, and generation In order to induce local development. All this has, over the years, been incipient and ineffective, in what concerns to reach the objectives set as justification for the public investments in the sector. However, experiences where the local population becomes the manager of the means of production and commercialization, such as what happens with community tourism, has demonstrated the capacity to improve the life of the native people, gaining momentum when developed in accordance with the principles of Solidarity Economy, Such as: self-management, cooperation in carrying out activities, solidarity, financial and environmental balance, as well as fair trade between producers and buyers. In this sense, the main objective is to understand the relationship between Tourism and Solidarity Economy, through community experiences in the southern coast of Ceará, especially in the communities of Canto Verde and Batoque. For a research of this nature it is necessary to use participatory methodologies, since the importance of the exchange between the academic knowledge and the endogenous knowledge of the residents of the selected communities is emphasized, since, in the initial questions and in the application of the forms of Observation, as well as in the realization of the workshops and the information gathered in loco, will favor the point of view of the local community. For the theoretical and methodological support, authors such as Sen (2000), Azevedo; Nunes and Santos (2014), Santos (1996 and 2005), Putnam (2006), among others. The text is divided into four parts: introduction, methodological procedures and two theoretical conceptual chapters that address the development-related, human-scale and solidarity-based aspects imbricated to community tourism.
