Mental Health of women health workers working on the front lines in the context Covid-19 Pandemic
Women. Mental health. Pandemic Covid-19. Health workers.
In the context of the pandemic, we observed the need to discuss the performance of
women health workers, since it is a category that deserves to be highlighted, both for
their way of acting, for the responsibilities they carry on themselves, as well as for the
way in which they are affected by the pandemic, because this new work environment is
fraught with needs, fear, insecurity, tensions, which can trigger mental problems. This
research seeks to analyze the repercussions caused by the pandemic on the mental
health of women health workers, who work in the hospital service during the pandemic.
It consists of a cross-sectional study of qualitative approach, which is based on the
theoretical framework of Institutional Analysis. The study was carried out at the
Fishermen's Hospital, in the Emergency Room sector, located in the municipality of
Natal-RN, which is a component of the Emergency And Emergency Network of the
municipality and reference in the care of patients affected by Covid-19. The procedures
occurred in two stages. First stage: content survey, with construction of a theoretical
framework in specific literature in documents of the Ministry of Health, scientific texts,
academic papers and publications on the subject. Second stage: data construction
through semi-structured interviews, observations recorded in the research journal and
information collection from secondary sources (hospital data). With regard to the
analysis of the data produced, it was constructed based on some seminal concepts of
Institutional Analysis. Regarding the contribution of the research, it is expected to
generate a reflection and understanding of the factors that negatively and positively
influence the mental health of these women.
