INTRODUCTION: The establishment of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) in 2006 required a reorientation of professional practices in the development of health promotion, prevention and recovery actions, in an integral and continuous manner, making Primary Care (AB) the ordering center of networks. of health care in the SUS. Its complexity of demands and the guarantee of its resoluteness points to the need for diverse knowledge, in this perspective emerges in 2008 the Family Health Support Centers (NASF) with specialized support from different professional categories and incorporating concepts such as Reference Team (RE). ) and Matrix Support (AM) in their work routine. The breastfeeding arrangement proposes a work process with specific and challenging characteristics, proposing a review of the referral process and counter reference and insertion of terms such as co-management, co-responsibility and sharing of care within health practices. OBJECTIVE: To understand the role of NASF in AB in municipalities of Seridó / RN. METHODOLOGY: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research, whose field work is being carried out in municipalities of the region of Seridó / RN and has as professional subjects the FHS, NASF and managers. The collection has been done through semi-structured individual interviews through a script with guiding questions. Data are being analyzed using Bardin's content analysis technique. PARTIAL RESULTS: The analysis points to conceptions about matrix support, which to some extent approach a general notion of its concept and diverge in view of the particularities of its work process. In addition, the understanding of its resolution can be seen with different interpretations. It was also possible to rehearse the possible impacts of AB's new financing decree and its position against Nasf-AB. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The current health scenario has enabled a closer look at the health care process, especially regarding the work of NASF-AB. In the face of changes, more uncertainty will arise about the type of assistance offered by these teams. Therefore, the finalization of the research may be extended, so that the role of Nasf-AB can be (re) evaluated and the impacts can be brought to light due to its probable extinction in AB
