SUMMARY:

INTRODUCTION: Mental health is a term used to describe a person's level of cognitive or emotional quality of life, and the family member becomes an active agent in the treatment and care provision of the person with mental disorder. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the layers of DSS from the statements of family members and users of CAPS. Method: This is a research with descriptive, exploratory approach of qualitative type. Data collection will be done at CAPS II Chiquita Bacana, located in the city of Santa Cruz-RN, located in the Trairi region. Will be included in the study all individuals who attend the CAPS for care at the time of collection, accompanied by a person whom he considers as family. The data collection technique will be a semi-structured interview, applied at the same time with both individuals, with questions directed to the family, having as focus individual the user of the health system. The findings that emerge from the participants' speeches during the interviews will be analyzed and discussed in the light of the Social Determinants of Health model proposed by Dahlgren and Whitehead (CNDSS, 2008), as well as other appropriate literature for discussion in public health.
