Considered one of the most socially important equipment, the school, has been surrounded by violent events that are manifested in different ways, involving several subjects. Against this background, violence against the teaching category has had little visibility in the context of scientific literature. In the Brazilian scenario, it is observed that being a teacher of basic education has become an increasingly difficult task, given the innumerable obstacles that need to overcome in the day to day of its work. Thus, this study aims to analyze the teachers' perception of school violence and occupational stressors, and the impacts that this can bring to the health of the professional. It is an exploratory-descriptive research of qualitative approach, based on the hermeneutic-dialectic method, whose sample was constituted by 27 teachers who teach in elementary and / or middle schools in Santa Cruz / RN. The data collection took place between December 2017 and April 2018, and for this purpose the Focal Groups strategy was used, carried out in 03 institutions, being 02 public and 01 private. Based on the material obtained, three thematic nuclei emerged: "The teacher's view on school violence, more intense stressors in teaching work, and violence and stressors suffered at work and the health impacts of teachers." This work made it possible to know aspects of the reality in which this professional is inserted, showing that his victimization is present in the teaching profession, besides being exposed to several other problems, which can affect his quality of life. It is hoped that the results of this study could contribute to improvements in the perspective of providing a satisfactory working environment.
