HIV/AIDS; Activism; Illness experience; Public Health
Introduction: The Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) pandemic, which has resulted from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, has overturned geographic barriers in the world in an overwhelming way, and raised discussions about morally sexual identities and practices as promiscuous, lascivious and divergent. This infection, crossed by social markers of difference, has repercussions on the life experience of those who live or live with this illness, as well as on the agenda of their demands, personal engagement and collective mobilizations. Objectives: To apprehend the experiences of HIV / AIDS activists that form the Collective Loka of Efavirenz and, from them, to understand how the (new) activism in Brazil, in times of chronicity of the disease, is formed. Method: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory case study of the Collective Loka of Efavirenz. Data will be collected through individual interviews, socioeconomic questionnaire, participant observation and access to materials produced in social media of the group studied. The analysis will be done using Content Analysis. Expected Results: It is hoped to provide support for the understanding of the PLHA experience and the activism they play in the current reality of the disease and in the way it conducts official preventive practices.
