THE GEOCONECTIONS GAME AS A DIDACTIC RESOURCE FOR TEACHING LEARNING ON GLOBALIZATION THEMES

The work proposes the construction of teaching material to be used as a Geography teaching tool. Its objective is to develop a board game that can contribute to the teaching-learning process on the topic of globalization. Specific objectives: identify how educational games can contribute to the construction of knowledge through skills and abilities; create a game for 9th grade elementary school classes; apply and evaluate the contributions of the Geoconexões Game to student learning. Starting from three guiding questions, which are: a) How can educational games contribute to developing skills and abilities that help understanding the topic of globalization? b) How can we see that the use of games facilitates the understanding of globalization? c) How can the Game contribute to teaching the topic of globalization in a historical/contemporary approach? The research proposal follows a qualitative approach of an applied nature. The methodological procedures were distributed in 7 stages: a) survey of bibliographic material; b) observation and teaching of an expository class on the theme of Globalization; c) The theoretical and methodological development of the game; d) Preliminary application of the game prototype with a group of Geography undergraduates, participants in the UFRN Pedagogical Residency Program; e) make the necessary corrections and adjustments, identified in the analysis and impressions provided by teachers regarding the first application of the prototype; f) The application of the game (improved prototype) in the 9th grade classes of the aforementioned school; g) analysis of student learning results.
