SUMMARY:

One of Geography teacher’s papers is to encourage his students to connect the studied subjects with the reality that they live. The curriculum’s subjects are registered in didactic books, used in the schools, but these materials are standardized, this way they do not offer perspectives on each Brazilian state, which makes it difficult to correlate the subjects and spaces that the student’s know. In this perspective, the present work is based on Buzan (2009), Gardner (1995), Callai (2005) and other important education thinkers to develop an e-book of mental maps about Rio Grande do Norte, which can serve as a resource for State Geography teacher to encourage students to develop relations between curriculum content and State characteristics.
