RESUMO:

The present work is engaged in the production of the paradidático book titled "The biggest reservoirs of Seridó Potiguar". In general, the study aimed to elaborate a textual material (paradidático book) aimed at the geography students of Elementary School II and High School that deal with the largest artificial reservoirs of the Seridó Potiguar and the municipality of Jucurutu, addressing its importance in the scope Of the discipline of Geography. Specifically, the study had as scope: to elaborate a historical synthesis of the construction of the largest reservoirs of Seridó Potiguar; To describe the main socioenvironmental characteristics of Seridó Potiguar, related to the construction of artificial reservoirs in this region and to characterize the largest artificial reservoirs and their uses. The book will be structured with an introduction, seven chapters, one for each reservoir under study, and the final considerations. They are elaborated: the introduction and the first two chapters. The introduction deals with the geographical characteristics of Seridó Potiguar; The first and second chapters relate, respectively, to the Itans and Gargalheiras dam. During the writing of the referred chapters, a language that was more accessible to the target audience (students of Elementary School II and High School) was translated, transforming technical and academic languages of books, reports, dissertations and other texts in a didactic language and adequate to the level of To which this material is directed. The current context of the Brazilian semi-arid region, specifically the Seridó norte-rio-grandense crisis in the water supply due to the drought that ravages this space since the year 2012 makes evident the importance that the theme of water resources (large reservoir) Take on the students' experiences, directly affecting their daily lives, in this way the book that is being constructed seeks to bring the students closer to the geographic content they experience day by day.
