RESUMO:

This work proposes the implementation of the theme "sea salt" in the school curriculum of a certain region: the northern coast of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, where the municipalities with the largest salt production in Brazil are located. This proposal will be made through a didactic-pedagogical instrumentation textual for the teaching of Geography, explaining the subjects of this content in an interdisciplinary and transversal way. The research was based on empirical observations related to the saline industry, which involves several contents worked in the Geography (and also biology and chemistry) component that could be worked by teachers of basic education. As a place of application and evaluation, the Clara Tetéo State School was chosen, located in the municipality of Macau-RN. Firstly, meetings were held with the pedagogical coordination (board, coordinator and teachers), followed by the elaboration of part of the didactic-textual material (proposed educational product), which was based on a constructive process and dialogued throughout four ) Didactic-pedagogical workshops with high school students. In these workshops, content related directly to the proposed theme was discussed, such as the historical, environmental, economic and cultural importance of the saltworks in the region. Finishing with a field class in Salina Unidos (Macau-RN). During the last workshop, the content of the booklet was presented, where in the first moment the oral multimedia dialogues were held, followed by a quiz (quiz) as a strategy to encourage interest and The participation of the students by the dynamics. In order to increase student participation in the discussion about the topic, the following virtual tools were used: WhatsApp application group, a "Caminhos do Sal" blog and a fanpage on the social network Facebook as a means of hosting information, activities reports and interaction Between the students involved and other users who are interested in this work. The interventions made at the school confirmed the underutilization of the subject in the Geography class, allowing a wide discussion about its insertion in the school curriculum. It was verified that through the theme chosen for this work, the various categories of spatial analysis can be studied in such a way that there is an interaction and transversality between the previous knowledge of the students, based on their place of living, with the main events , Phenomena and transformations of the Geographic Space in the regional, national and global scales, within the contents, skills and competences expected for the formation of the students.
