SUMMARY:

This study aims to report the experience of an artistic and literary performance implemented in Pedro Pascoal de Oliveira secondary state school, in Juazeirinho, Paraíba. Through this intervention, we intend to expand the knowledge and the appreciation of the cultural and racial diversity of black people and, consequently, to promote an antiracist practice in and from the above mentioned school. This will happen through activities which encompass the different artistic languages and genres, such as poems and rap music. Therefore, the word poetic will be bind to other utterabilities. In this sense, the image, the sound, the movement, the memory, the gestures, and even the silence can consist in elements that, when associated, represent a dinamic and fluid discourse. Consequently, they will reaffirm what the written text intends to communicate, resignifying it in a broader expressive set. It is important to emphasize that this activity is effectively possible due to Law 10.639/03, and that we will mediate the reading and reflection about texts from black authorship which will contribute to breaking stereotypes that scarred the history of this community for years. Therefore, the research question is: how will the black literature in performance implement an antiracist practice in today's society in and from Pedro Pascoal de Oliveira secondary state school? Moreover, this research presents an applied methodology, founded by students' perceptions and feelings regarding literature in performance. In this case, the student is the subject and object of research. The theoretical framework is formed by contributions in literary performance, such as Paul Zumthor (2010) and Diana Taylor (2013), as well as in rap poetry, as discussed by Amarino Queiróz (2007). Besides these authors, black artists and poets who adress anti-racism in their work are also part of the discussion in the classroom.
