In the last sections they observed an important mobilization in the application of quality programs in the health organizations. This process comes over time by improving and incorporating new variables and initiatives considered indispensable to ensure the effectiveness of services. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality - AHRQ prepared a questionnaire in 2004 to help hospitals assess to what extent their organizational cultures emphasize the importance of patient safety and facilitate the implementation of activities aimed at this purpose. That said, the purpose of this work is to evaluate the impact of implementing a patient safety program on the safety culture of an oncology service. Data collection is done through the physical application of the patient safety culture questionnaire, developed from the questionnaire (AHRQ) and for the application of the questionnaire with the participants returned by a survey of the research individually in their place of work and in moments of their availability. The questionnaire is applied to all professionals of the institution, constituting a sample for convenience, as two steps before and after the implementation of the patient safety program. The implementation of the patient safety program consists of an action by the Quality Management Center of the institution and be used as theoretical basis scientific academic productions and through relevant legislation, such as Resolution Nº. 529 1/4/2013 establishing the National Safety Program of the Patient (PNSP) and Resolution RDC Nº. 36 of July 25, 2013 of the National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance. As a result of the first application of the questionnaire obtained the participation of 50 professionals from different periods of work and professional area. All completed questionnaires were completed correctly. It was concluded that the first stage of the study attended, moving to a stage of implementation of the patient safety program.
