RESUMO:

The performance evaluation is a fundamental tool for people management at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Through it is possible to identify the situation of the servers in a certain period of time, considering the analysis of the employee himself, his peers and his leadership. At UFRN, the evaluation form is applied annually and its completion is compulsory for technical administrative in education and for teachers who perform administrative functions. Through these data, the people management team can plan people's development strategies, such as training courses, for example, allowing the institution to grow along with them, contributing to the improvement of the services provided.

Due to the impact of the people management process, the Pro-Rector's Office of People Management (PROGESP) identified the need to update the employee performance evaluation forms, seeking to make it more pleasant to encourage employees to contribute to the improvement of the personnel administration and development area.

The present study aims to analyze the usability of UFRN performance evaluation forms, the first one developed in 2006 and used until 2015 and the second, created to replace it, and generate a set of suggestions that may contribute to the redesign The tool from the viewpoint of usability.

To perform this qualitative study, two techniques were used to collect the information. Firstly, a structured interview was conducted with the responsible for the Design of the Information Technology Superintendency (SINFO) and with the PROGESP evaluation department to facilitate understanding of the current situation and the needs for change. Then, two pre-tests of the cooperative evaluation were carried out, with the purpose of validating the process of the present research.

After applying the two pre-tests to validate the research procedures, it was possible to obtain a partial result, in which all the employees who participated in the research indicated that the resolution form of 2015 presents more usability than its previous one, although it is a prototype And needs improvement.
