RESUMO:

This study had as objective to analyze aspects relating to interprofessional education and aging in the training of professionals working in the Family Health Strategy and Support Center for Family Health. This is a case study with qualitative approach was carried out in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, located in the Northeast of Brazil. To reach the goal, a survey of the pedagogical projects of the courses for the professions working in the Family Health Strategy and Support Center for Family Health was carried out. The analysis of the aforementioned documents was carried out taking into account two analytical categories: (i) skills and competencies and (ii) curriculum. With respect to skills and competencies, it is noted that they are in line with the skills and competencies outlined in the National Curriculum Guidelines. However, the pedagogical projects of the courses are not provided for the development of skills and competencies to act against the health needs of the elderly, especially when it comes to inter-action that provides comprehensive care and development of the autonomy, the role and the independence of the subject that ages. As for the second analytic category, it was noticed that there are few courses that offer curriculum components that address the human aging in an interdisciplinary way. Despite the reforms encouraged by the National Curriculum Guidelines, there is still a hegemony in the health area courses in making their students have training curricula based on closed, less interdisciplinary and increasingly specialized. Regarding the health of the elderly, it means summarize care to disease prevention, disregarding the social and subjective aspects common to the human aging process and disadvantaging promoting a practice of comprehensive care.
