RESUMO:

The infant psychological clinic intervines based on the support of children and their guardians. Starts from the adult’s complaint towards the child, who is brought to the clinic name by an adult’s complaint. In the experience of the work of clinical supervision at the Serviço Integrado de Psicologia da Universidade Potiguar – SIP (Universidade Portiguar’s Psychology Integrated Service), following trainees in meetings, we could observe hesitation evidences about the possibility of meeting children. Some of the arguments are of not knowing what to say to them in the course of cares and having to deal with parental demand, while there is an imbalance between what the child presents and what the grown up brought initially. We understand that there is an idea of childhood and child that predates and runs through the clinical work and that reveals itself in the psychotherapeutic relation stablished with the child. Thus, the presente research aims to analyse the conception of childhood in the contemporary infant psychological clinic to the trainees that conduct the clinical procedures. The specific goals are to: define the conceptions of child and childhood, based on the historicity of the modern period; identify the main historical events that built the birth of the psychological clinic with children; characterize the specificity of psychological clinic with children according to social and historical principles. The research will be qualitative and it shall use the historical-descriptive method. We will go from the child described by Rousseau and Freud that marked the Modern period untill we get to the child considered as social actor in the XX century, recently contemplated by the Infant Sociology, but before widely discussed by Vygotski. The field research shall be done at the Psychology’s Integrated Service and will have as participants the Psychology’s trainees the social-historical method in their practices. The instruments for the built of the researches corpus are: registres in clinical records, anamnese sheets, crew meeting records and semistructured interviews. We’ll use the speech analysis, based on the Círculo de Bakhtin’s ideas and that consists, not only in a study field but also in a tool that will provide access to the speech about the child. The theoretical relevance consists in the importance of defining the concept for childhood, beyond the epistemological diferences that come from many undertandings in Psychology Cience.
