The study of phenotypic divergence allows to know the degree of similarity of forest populations, subsidizing the selection of genetically more divergent individuals for programs of genetic improvement and conservation of native species. Thus, the present study aims to analyze an intrapopulation phenotypic divergence of different adults from the biometric characterization of A. cearensis seeds, in addition, to envision selecting trees that produce seeds with better attributes of physical and physiological quality. Fruit collection was carried out manually, from 17 years old, with good sanitary conditions and phenotypic aspects, two times apart in height to avoid collecting seeds from trees, even related. For each tree, 100 seeds were used, the reading was performed by manually measuring biometric variables, with the aid of a digital caliper and the individual weight of the seeds was determined using a precision scale. Besides, seed quality was assessed using vigor and viability tests. According to the criteria similarity dendrogram, specified by the values of the biometric variables of the seeds, it was observed that there was a more significant divergence in relation to the characteristics of the seeds, the matrix 17 showed a value above 90%. It is concluded that this study provides essential information for selecting matrix trees based on the superior quality of seeds and the greatest phenotypic dissimilarity for A. cearensis.
