Determining adequate procedures for conducting the germination test on forest species that are not yet included in the Normative Instructions is important to enable the certification and commercialization of quality seed lots. Therefore, the objective was to determine the appropriate temperature and substrate conditions for conducting the Senna siamea seed germination test, as well as to characterize the seedling development morphology during the germination process. The Experiment was conducted in a completely randomized factorial design with 1 x 2 x 2 subdivided plots (lots x substrates x temperature). Three batches of seeds were used in the substrates of paper towels and on sand, under temperatures of 25 and 30 °C. Percentage and germination speed, first count, cumulative germination curve, seedling length and morphological characterization of germination. The germination of Senna siamea seeds has greater potential in paper roll substrate and temperatures at 25 and 30 °C, and the first day of germination count must be evaluated at 10 days after sowing and at the end of the test (21 days after seeding). The germination of Senna siamea seeds is of the epigeal type, and its seedlings are phanerocotyledonous.
