SUMMARY:

Spondias tuberosa is an endemic species in Brazil, popularly known as umbu, belonging to the Anacardiaceae family. It has importance in the economy through the extraction of fruits, which are appreciated in natura, and by derivatives such as sweets, jams and beers. The objective of this study was to evaluate the spatial pattern, the biometry of the fruits, allometric variations and the intrapopulational genetic diversity, in addition to modeling areas of environmental suitability for S. tuberosa in climate change scenarios. The spatial pattern was aggregated, with a higher density of neighbors (NDF) within a radius of up to 40 m. The fruits have a length of 20.05 mm to 39.02 mm and a diameter between 17.73 mm and 35.48 mm, and the fresh mass with 11 g to 26.47 g. The diaspores obtained mean length, diameter and thickness, of 19.27 mm, 13.95 mm, 11.14 mm and fresh mass with 2.28 g. The fresh weight had the highest variation coefficient value. The highest correlation of fruits was between fresh weight and diameter (rs = 0.89). The correlations between DAP parameters, total height and canopy area were positive and significant (P <0.0001). The genetic analysis of 23 reproductive individuals, using ten ISSR primers (Inter Repetitions of Simple Sequences) revealed 103 loci. The number of alleles observed was 1.99 (± 0.41), number of effective alleles 1.65 (± 0.34), Nei diversity index 0.37 (± 0.07) and Shannon index 0.55 (± 0.11) were low. Bayesian analysis defined four different groups (K = 4), results that were consistent across the UPGM cluster. The results of the extraction in value produced and commercialized, demonstrated that the state of Bahia had the largest quantity produced and commercialized during the ten years. In the modeling for the period, the AUC was 0.94 and the standard deviation was ± 0.01, the highest percentage of contribution was for the annual precipitation variable (75.3%). The results obtained may assist strategies aimed at the conservation, improvement and economic exploitation of the species.
