RESUMO:

The BDq method is based on the concept of balanced forest, and its application as a method of determination of cut, leads the population to a remaining stock, promoting the maintenance of the diameter structure. The study area is located in Pombal, PB. For sampling 40 sample units of 10 m x 25 m were implanted. All tree individuals with circumference at 1.30 m from the ground ≥ 10 cm were sampled. Simpson dominance indices (C), Pielou equability (J) and Jentsch Mixing Coefficient (QM) were evaluated. To calculate Liocourt's quotient “q”, the individuals were divided into diametric classes with 5 cm intervals. The frequency by diameter class was adjusted using the Meyer distribution function. The established values of remaining basal area, maximum diameter and constant "q" in the respective stock classes indicated the removal of trees in all diameter classes, with greater intensity in the smaller diameter classes.
