RESUMO:

Plant tannins are known to have economic, ecological and social potential, but studies highlight the lack of information about the interference of external factors in their concentration inside the plants. The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of two external factors (collection period and soil cultivation methods) on the content of condensed tannins (TTC) present in the bark of Acacia mangium Willd. The bark collection was carried out in an experimental area in the Macaíba / RN municipality in two periods, rainy and dry, with 4 trees analyzed per period, and also collected in intensive fertilization. Tannin extraction and quantification were carried out, where it was observed that the collection in the rainy season presented TTC of 12.41% and in the dry period 6.81%. Soil treatment did not present statistical difference. It is concluded that the collection period influences the TTC present in the bark of the A. mangium tree.
