RESUMO:

Pityrocarpa moniliformis (Fabaceae) is a tree species that has social, ecological and economic potential for Northeastern Brazil, with several uses for timber and non-timber. Therefore, information on seed quality and genetic diversity of trees for in situ conservation, selection of matrices, incorporation into local productive systems and genetic improvement are needed, in order to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region. The objective of this work was to evaluate the genetic diversity among P. moniliformis trees by means of molecular and morphometric markers of seeds, as well as to analyze the quality of seeds from these individuals, aiming at the selection of seedlings of this species for conservation in situ and genetic improvement. For the selection of molecular markers, 28 molecular ISSR primers were tested, evaluating the total number of loci, polymorphism rate and content value of the polymorphic information (PIC). For the biometric analysis of seeds, we performed the analysis of 33 seed lots by means of digital image processing, then the descriptive and correlation analyzes were performed between the biometric variables, as well as multivariate analysis of components main and Euclidean distance. Seed quality was evaluated through the physical, sanitary and physiological aspects of seeds. The selection of the superior performance matrices will be done by comparing the results obtained with the seed quality evaluation, through the physical, sanitary and physiological aspects of seeds, and genetic diversity among of P. moniliformis trees.
