SUMMARY:

Interprofessional work represents the search for comprehensive care, where many professions work interdependently and together, sharing common goals, recognizing the importance of each other and forming a team identity. When it occurs with collaborative practices, interprofessionality strengthens the centrality of the user and their needs, therefore, it is one of the most effective alternatives in view of the complexity of the health sphere. Dental surgeons have their work history more centered on the biomedical model, however, when inserted in the Family Health Strategy, they need to be part of interprofessional teams. This is not yet a prevalent reality, due to situations of being excluded or exclude themselves, but there is progress. So, this study aims to verify the perception of dentists in relation to interprofessional work in the practices included in the Family Health Strategy in the city of Parnamirim/RN. The study will have a descriptive and cross-sectional character based on qualitative and quantitative approaches. The participants will be dentists who work in the city's Family Health Strategy and the collection instrument will be through a semi-structured interview script with open and closed questions. Based on the research, it is expected to analyze if dentists understand and act in an interprofessional perspective, whether there is the presence of interprofessional education in the training of these professionals and what difficulties they encounter in entering the interprofessional work. Thus, obtaining subsidies to reflect and give new meaning to professional practices that foster interprofessionalism.
