From the promulgation of the National Solid Waste Policy (Law 12.305 / 2010), in August 2010, created a legal and institutional framework the management of solid waste in Brazil. The PNRS also regulates the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the country and for this, the main instruments of this policy are sectoral agreements and reverse logistics. As the technical studies show that waste to contain precious metals considering valuable for the productive chain of recycling. Thus, this study aims to answer the following starting question: how to structure the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the city of Natal-Brazil from the recommendations of the national solid waste policy? Before the foregoing, the aim of this study was to review the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the city of Natal-Brazil based on what provides the National Policy on Solid Waste. Specific objectives: to present legal and regulatory aspects of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the international and national level, focusing on reverse logistics systems; analyse the current situation in which it happens the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in Natal, Brazil; and understand the implications of the management of such waste in global-local level, by inserting Natal-Brazil in the production chain of waste recycling to analyse how this administration does, will use the inductive method, with documentary research techniques, literature, and field research. From the collection of data and information, it is expected that the direct observation of the performance of public and private actors allow the study of this reality in Natal and its relationship with the organization of reverse logistics at the national level, as well as generalization as the effectiveness of national solid waste policy, which has well-defined involvement of the union as federative body, but the participation in terms of shared responsibility in the municipal and state level is developing.
