RESUMO:

This work proposes to study the structural behavior of integral concrete bridges in order
to analyze the variation of the internal efforts, tensions as well as the longitudinal
displacements in the structure due to the indirect actions of creep, shrinkage and thermal
variation. Soil deformability through soil-structure interaction (ISE) will be considered
using p-y curves where the soil adjacent to the piles will be represented by a set of
horizontal springs of non-linear behavior. The backfill located next to the abutment will
be modeled with linear springs. A three-dimensional numerical analysis of a bridge with
three spans will be carried out by a finite element method program, analyzing three (3)
different structural systems: integral bridge; integral abutment bridge and conventional
bridge, the latter being composed of isostatic spans separated by expansion joints.
Finally, a comparison will be made between the results obtained with the integral and
the conventional systems, and the results obtained by MEF with theoretical and
analytical models, using NBR 6118: 2014 for consideration of the thermal loading and
the Eurocode 2: 2004 model for time-dependent effects.
