RESUMO:

This work aims to contribute to a better understanding of the technique of embankments on soft soils reinforced with jet grout columns headed by load transfer platform with geosynthetics, as well as their time-dependent behaviour resulting from the consolidation process. A literature review is presented, which includes the analysis of embankments on columns, headed with geosynthetic, the jet grouting technology and the characterization of geosynthetics. A two-dimensional calculation program is used, based on finite element method, which allows the analysis of consolidation through a coupled mechanical-hydraulic formulation, in which the behaviour of the soil is defined in terms of effective stress. In order to model the behaviour of the soil, a nonlinear elastoplastic constitutive model is used, based on Critical State Soil Mechanics (p-q-θ model). By using this model, it’s intended to compare numerically the data measured in the field of a landfill case on soft soils in the duplication of BR-101 / RN, which was observed conditions of excessive rupture and deformation and for their stabilization. The behaviour of the work is analysed both during the construction and the post-construction stages. In addition, parametric studies are performed in order to understand the influence of several parameters on the behaviour of the illustrative case, namely the distribution of the jet grout columns, the deformability of the columns, the column spacing and tensile stiffness of the geosynthetic.
