SUMMARY:

The tourism industry covers a wide range of sectors. Considering the continuous crises faced by the segments of hosting media, they raised doubts regarding how to manage the crises. The hotel sector is a little explored theme under the investigation of crisis management actions and strategies. The characteristics and services provided by these sectors are very different, with different planning and management strategies, as pointed out by Wang and Ritchie (2021). In view of the above, the following question arises: What factors can influence the intention to choose a means of hosting from the crisis management capacity and brand credibility. Thus, this thesis has as its central objective the existing relationships between the crisis management capacity ant the brand credibility as influencing factors in the hosting intention. For this, the research, with a qualitative and quatitative approach, will have the following steps: 1) Analyze the perception of specialists in the área and of interviewees regarding the variables that characterize the crisis management capacity and credibility of the lodging media brand, through bibliographic research and with the aid of the Focus Group (FG) method (Silva et at., 2014); 2) Application of questionnaires with tourists to investigate the respondentes perception of the dimensons used; 3) Validation of the research model, which consists in the development of a structural model to validate the dimensions from na analysis plan that will be used by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, using the Structural Equation Modeling (MEE) technique to explain the relationships of the dimensions used in the research.
