SUMMARY:

Supporting the management and delivery of services, as well as tourist experiences, with characteristics marked by the intense sharing of information and the co-creation of value, the theory of Smart Tourism Ecosystem (STE) emerges. In the specialized literature, the Smart Tourism Destination (STD) is seen as a practical example of STE, having its concept supported by the increasingly intense use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in tourism, connecting people and things at any time, anywhere. The application of technologies called smart aims to improve the tourist experience in the destination. Expanding this spectrum, theoretical models emerge that aim to sustain researches that consider dimensions considered in the perception of the improvement of the tourist experiences lived by the visitors of tourist destinations. SEGITTUR, a spanish body, stands out in this scenario, bringing a documented framework in the form of standards that takes into account not only the application of Technology, but management practices considered to be intelligent in the areas of Innovation, Sustainability and Universal Accessibility. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the dimensions of Smart Tourism Destinations in the perception of the Natal visitor in relation to their Tourist Experience. The approach methodology is qualitative, it is a longitudinal study, as the first phase portrays the perception of managers regarding the dimensions of STD guided by SEGITTUR, Spain: Innovation, Technology, Universal Accessibility and Sustainability. Based on this model, the documentary survey of tourism planning tools at the local level was carried out, the 2013 Integrated Development Plan for Sustainable Tourism (PDITS) in Natal; and the Marketing Plan for the Natal Tourist Area, 2016, in addition to Decrees of the Crisis context - COVID-19. With this, the empirical field consists of secondary and primary data, including collection from tourists in Natal. About the collection instrument, it is the interview script validated in the first study phase. Content analysis will be used, for this treatment the content analysis tool - NVivo software will be used, in order to pursue one of the specific objectives, which is to identify which elements of the STD dimensions are present in Natal tourism planning instruments and Decrees of the Crisis context. It is intended, with this research, to contribute to the improvement of the process of consolidation of intelligent practices in Natal, positively impacting the relations between tourism agents, bringing improvements to the competitiveness of the researched destination.
