ornamental aquaculture; economy; agribusiness
The expansion of aquarism in Brazil has driven the development of the ornamental aquaculture sector, extractivism and trade in animals and products. For this, it is fundamental that there is an identification of this market, indicating the volume produced and marketed besides its characterization. Forms were applied for Rio Grande do Norte producers, retailers, resellers and distributors with questions regarding the profile of each one within that market, production, sale of products and animals, environmental perception and legalization of their activities. The data to be presented can subsidize public policies to foment, control and supervise the activity making the aquarium a sustainable and strengthened activity in the different links of the productive chain.
