Characterization of  T cells in patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (NIC)

RESUMO:

Objective. The present study aimed to observed the role played by T*+ cells in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.Material and Methods. The selection of patients for this study was conducted during the period from November 2014 to March 2016. The study was conducted in groups of women seeking Cervical Pathology Clinic of Maternity Hospital Januário Cicco the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte for realization of cervical cytology.Blood samples were collected from patients, and then held in immunophenotyping of cell populations T*+ cells by flow cytometry. Results. In our study,the patients were divided into cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 1 group (CIN1) and including cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 (CIN2) and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 3 (CIN3)and uninjured (NILM), based on the histopathology results. However, *+ T cells not observed statistically significant differences from the observed characteristic observed between the groups CIN and NILM. Conclusion.It is concluded that there are *+ T cells in peripheral blood of women affected with NIC, this points to a participation of these cells in this entity. However, further studies are needed to better understand the mechanisms that involve the *+ T cells in the progression of the lesions and the future development of alternatives for immunotherapy of cervical cancer.
