SUMMARY:
Considering the content of Wittgensten's philosophy, we have the Tractatus Logico
Philosophicus and the Philosophical Investigations as the two most important works of the
Austrian thinker. In both Wittgenstein discusses relevant themes, such as language, its use and
meaning, logic and ethics. Despite having built two distinct phases of thought, we will notice
that the basis of his arguments comes from the analysis of language, sometimes as something
underlying reality from a logical space in the case of the Tractatus, sometimes as inserted in
everyday life from the idea of ' language games', in Investigations. From this perspective, we
intend to investigate the possibility of continuity in Wittgensten's thought, emphasizing how
this author understands the ethics worked initially in the Tractatus and then we will seek
subsidies in the new language model resumed in the Investigations in an attempt to elucidate
the possibilities of ethical discourse to be presented through of the games arranged in this
second phase. We will start this analysis starting from some arguments contained in the
Introduction of Investigations, observing if there is a more precise relationship between these
two works and with that we will reflect on ethics following the Austrian philosopher's line of
reasoning. With this approach, we aim to understand whether the discourse about ethics can be
sustained in the two phases of this author, based on the idea that there is an ethical concern or
tension implicitly related to the definitions of some terms present in these works, such as
language, meaning, use, meaning, way of life, happy life, subject, among others. We ratify that
although it seems understandable to us to understand that the concepts pointed out by the author
vary from one work to another, this does not imply that the themes raised are forgotten, which
brings up the need to clarify these concepts, observing at what point they manage to explain the
discourse on ethics.
