John Rawls; Democracy; Pluralismo; Liberty; Reason.
On this paper we are about to take in-depth look into the concept of Reasonable Pluralism and its implications on the political and ethical thinking of John Rawls. For Rawls, Reasonable Pluralism it’s a confirmation of a societal structure that has multitude of world views, that usually antagonize and compete with one another. For him Reasonable Pluralism is presupposed in modern society as a whole, as it is particularly important to democracy and to the institutions that take care about freedom of association. And by presupposed, the author acknowledges the any propositions about the principles of justice or social cooperation, and even about public policies, that all of this should be taken into consideration if the matter is justice. The Reasonable Pluralism explains that morality is very devised between people in society, it comes into all sorts of beliefs, philosophy, religion. The question is that society is diverse, and it is important that politics could include everyone in it besides their own personal values. To be able to handle the problems that come with Plurality in the construction of a justice in a society, John Rawls feels the urge to revisit his theory, the theory of Justice as Equity. He now uses the concept of Justice as Politics and not anymore as Justice as something intrinsically moral. By that he changes the whole structure of his work to give a new perspective on his concept of Justice as Equity, he understands Pluralism as big part of the democratic society, especially through the optics of reason and liberty.
