Incarceration. Institution. Image. Imaginary.
This research proposes an approach on the experience of incarceration when problematizing the relationship of the subject with the instituted, which presents itself with its alienating and imprisoning strength of subjective and collective capacities. The individual finds himself helpless in the face of something that he is not aware of, that is the product of the imaginary. For him it is of another order: he is in a condition of total belonging and impotence in the face of this structure. Therefore, for this subject and, equally for the alienated collective, he does not have the strength or mechanisms to help him think and see both his place as hostage to an imaginary data and the imaginary itself, represented here through one or more institutions that had a start date, had origin, that is, they are historical creations, they are works of the imaginary that arose in specific places, moments and peoples. The alienating control of the imaginary prevents the individual and the collective from understanding that they are facing creations. But, what can the awareness of being in front of creations mean and promote in the psyche and in the community? One of the main contributions would be a coherent view of reality and the things that compose it, that such things are creations, are works of the imaginary, are institutions made over time. Such institutions, as works or because they are creations of the imagination, can be reformulated, undone and even be thrown to the ground, if they are exercising a controlling, dominant and impeding role in reasoning, free reflection and new creations.
