SUMMARY:

The study of the landscape in the geographical context is developed as a way of knowing the different elements and phenomena contained, being they biotic, abiotic and anthropic (Bertrand, 2004). In this case, geodiversity is configured, being a more recent concept that relates the elements applied in the landscape, linked to the term biodiversity. Applied in the coastal environment, the study of geodiversity has the potential to identify singular forms (BRILHA, 2005), acting in the conservation of areas exposed to human action. In this sense, in the region of the Costa Branca, on the coast of the municipalities of Tibau, Grossos and Areia Branca / RN, they are included due to the high salinity, they condition the formation of salt pans and the beautiful landscapes, which suffer strong anthropic influences. Within this conjecture the geomorphological highlighted by the areas of geomorphological interest, if added together form or geomorphological heritage. In this work, eight geomorphological tests were used, invented according to the methodological proposal of Pereira (2006), which developed two stages, inventory and quantification, dealing with stages of analysis and identification of geoforms, field work and cartographic construction, respectively. The result is a proposal for geomorphology, with diverse, quantifiable and comparable values, serving as the basis for special protection initiatives in these areas and sustainable use.
