SUMMARY:

In this research we analyzed the socioeconomic and regional dynamics of Jardim de Piranhas (RN) according to the industrial textile activity. Thus, the general objective of the work is to understand the current dynamics of Jardim de Piranhas considering the socioeconomic and regional importance of the textile industrial activity, with regard to the variables production, capital, technological level, distribution and work. To achieve this goal, we are conducting bibliographic research on the key concepts of the work, documentary research on the object of study and field research on the textile industrial activity located in Jardim de Piranhas. As preliminary results of the research, we highlight that the textile industry is less present in the urban space of Jardim than it was 5 years ago and, nevertheless, it is more modern in terms of the production process and more dispersed throughout the city.
