The Adaptation of the AEDES Aircraft for Flight on Mars
AEDES; ANSYS; Fluent; Mars; Profile
The present dissertation aims to adapt the AEDES aircraft – Social Defense Aircraft – for flights on Mars, proposing to change the current profile of the aircraft, for a new profile capable of providing flight conditions in the rarefied Martian atmosphere. Through the Fluent ANSYS software, simulations will be performed, using density, pressure, atmospheric viscosity, Martian gravitational force and the desired speed for the aircraft as input data. Through this simulation, it will be possible to obtain the lift and drag coefficient values of each simulated profile at different angles of attack. Subsequently comparing the values and proposing the change, for the profile and angle of attack with values more suitable for flight on Mars.
